Rafael Nadal has once again claimed his fifth title of the French Open. It is Rafael and his confidence at clay. He is always good at it and nope probably it was not an exciting match like when he played with Roger Federer, he won Robin Solderling 6-4, 6-2, 6-4. Rafael Nadal has also become the World Number one taking over the tennis great Roger Federer by a few more points. At the Women games it was a more interesting one as cool Aussie player Samantha Stosur beat three World Number ones before and current in a row but at the end probably she did not focus enough and lost to Francesca Schiavone. Fracesca became the first Italian woman to win the French Open.

Roger Federer clinched his 16th grand slam title today and Serena Williams took away with her 12th grand slam title. She managed to win former World No. 1 comeback player Justine Henin at the last round of the game. The match was an exciting one with both players playing well and at the end Justine Henin who seems a little tired out lost the game. But to her, she had achieve good results as she managed to be at two finals since she returned. At the Men's final, Roger Federer once again showed his might to win the British player Andy Murray.

What a match to begin at the Australia Open 2010! Two Marias were playing against each other and it was the former World No. 1 that lost. Maria Kirilenko the supposedly less prominent player than Maria Sharapova won 7-6, 3-6, 6-4. But she herself of course has certain level of skills and both of them are seemingly one of those players that spectators are here to watch them play.

Maria Sharapova who has been trying to get back her skills since her injury has been under performing only winning one Open last year compared to her previous. But well at least she keeps on playing now and she needs the time to reflect on how to get her skills back again. She was after all a World No. 1 before.

When she managed to get back her skills she should probably be able to perform really well then. But well it was a great opening at the Australia Open.

Now with her new title she should be improving her standing again. The ranking aside, it has been a long wait for Maria Sharapova to win a tournament again. The world former no. 1 has been playing really hard to get back her standard and so far she has achieved placing at two finals with the Tokyo one as the winner. Still it is a distance from her previous results but now Maria has definitely show that she can play and continue to win again at the tournaments.

The recent tennis phenomenon Melanie Oudin did not managed to continue her run at the US Open after winning some of the top and much experience tennis players. This time it was also another teenager that won her. In the match, Melanie Oudin did not served that well and Caroline Wozniacki took that to her advantage and won her in the end even though Oudin put up a good fight at the back. Kim Clijsters the former world no. 1 however managed to win and get a spot at the semi-finals. This time she will be facing current world no. 2 Serena Williams who is always one of the favorite at the US Open. It seems that we will be having an exciting match soon as one will be doing her best to show that she still has the skills and the other, will have to show that she is definitely one of the current best player.
