Taking a break from the Winter Olympics coverage, the HSBC Women's Championships once again ended off with a high note and this year's tournament has seen a large crowd at the Tanah Merah country club. The large crowd is mainly due to the pulling factor of Michelle Wie. It mentioned that there is always about at least 500 spectators following her wherever she go and on her arrival here in Singapore, there was already a large crowd surrounding her asking for her autograph.

With high profile players such as Lorena Ochoa and Michelle Wie, the champion however turned out to be Ai iyazato, the No. 1 golfer in Japan. But Miyazato is not to be with reckon with also. With her success in the season's opening event in Thailand last week, she continued her fine form in Singapore, holding the joint lead going into the final round.

The 24-year-old golfer maintained her composure to end the day with seven birdies and lift the trophy plus the US$195,000 cheque.
