Tennis Champion Billie Jean King awarded

In the earlier post on World skating champion being nominated for the sportswoman of the year, the award actually comes from the tennis great Billie Jean King in some ways as she was the one who founded it.

Billie Jean King was given the Presidential award for her efforts in women's rights. The award she founded is part of her effort in enabling women to be recognize in their talent and to have the support to excel in them.

Billie Jean King had also created a sensational tennis match years back when she played a game with the male tennis champion Bobby Riggs.
